By Selim Bugur
Jeet Kune Do is a fighting system and philosophy founded by Bruce Lee.
The main principle of the system is known as „intercepting fist“ which allows a fighter to intercept the attackers movement and defend himself by using offensive moves.
Initially, termed Jun Fan Gung Fu, it combines techniques, strategies, principles and tactics of Wing Chun, Boxing and Fencing.
There are no traditional forms and no unnecessary movements in Jeet Kune Do.
It is a system and philosophy based on effectiveness, economy of motion, various ranges of combat, various ways of attack, a centerline, and combat realism.
The two-part Jeet Kune Do Series contains technical exercises, combinations, drills and ideas for your training.
The second part starts with warm up exercises in the sections of reaction & endurance and clinch-position drills.
Then basic punching techniques in close distance and also the use of elbows, knees and head are demonstrated with focus mitts.
An important part of this film is the going into the clinch and also the transitions in this range. The conclusion maintains fighting drills and counter techniques.
That series is a perfect instruction for all martial artists, no matter if beginner, advanced or trainer, who want to improve their abilities in self denfense, close combat and clinch. Additionally reaction ability, strength, endurance and coordinationare being trained.
